Spring: God’s Spiritual Cleansing

Over the years I have noticed that we as humans are creatures of habit and that we also follow the same cycles of the Mother Earth. When we witness spring, we notice that the Earth starts preparing itself for summer. There is an abundance of wind and rain. Hurricane season starts in some areas. Floods, Earthquakes and other natural disasters dominate the news.
Then we notice that new grass starts peeping through the earth; trees and flowers bloom, preparing the seeds that will drop to the earth and take root. Sturdy daffodils and Hyacinths’ push up through the earth, to add a soft color pallet to our world. Weeds also start taking root and most of us recognize that in order to get a head start in eradicating them, we must eliminate them now.
It occurred to me; it’s the same with our spiritual life. Situations, sometimes critical, have a way of presenting themselves in our life, at this time, which call for our immediate attention. In giving readings, I have noticed that in most cases, the situations existed long before this season, but was buried or not handled until it caused confusion or limitation. There’s something about this season Spring, that pushes the envelope enough so that “things” come up in our lives to handle. Things that manage to affect us through emotional dilemmas (mind), physical challenges (body) and Spiritual crisis, (Spirit) in personal areas of our lives; our loved ones, friends, husbands, jobs and health.
When we watch these occurrences in our lives, we may notice, they have a pattern. These dilemmas can be seasonal in their duration, or they can linger through many seasons. What we were preoccupied with this past winter has changed. There are new “dilemmas” for us to deal with on our path. Could it be that we are also undergoing a “Spring Cleaning” in our affairs; cleaning out the “weeds” in our life?
What is it that needs to be cleansed in your life this spring? This is a perfect time to start creating the life you want. Where to start? Just watch this video:

Creating the life you want takes courage; the courage to let go of what is no longer serving you.

“Find the good. It’s all around you. Find it, showcase it and you’ll start believing in it.”-Jesse Owens (1913-1980); American track and field athlete

Sitting in meditation enables you to focus wholly on the self within to determine the direction you want your life to flow. I found this wonderful page which specifically lists the benefits of meditation: (http://spiritualflower.com/meditation)

We all have the tools we need to change our lives. I encourage you to be happy, and fulfilled.

I pronounce myself free!

This is so beautiful! It’s a little long, but enjoy:

When I run across something like this, I usually incorporate it into my spiritual practice for a couple of days to allow my soul to assimilate and process the lesson.

Stay tuned for my next blog,

New Beginnings

I took a break from life recently and came back renewed and inspired enough to realize that I was looking at my life in a limited way. The outward appearance was troublesome to me but by taking a break, I was able realize that I had only to broaden my focus to include the beauty that surrounded me, and voila`, I am happy again! The Universe always responds to our efforts; I received this wonderful email today from my Reiki teacher, Yvonne DeVastey which was right on point. I wanted to share…..

Guidelines and Guideposts for Life…

A Birth Certificate shows that we were born
A Death Certificate shows that we died
Pictures show that we lived!
Have a seat. Relax . . .
And read this slowly.

I Believe…
That just because two people argue,
It doesn’t mean
They don’t love each other.
And just because they don’t argue,
It doesn’t mean they do love each other.

I Believe…
That we don’t have to change friends if
We understand that friends change.

I Believe….
That no matter how good a friend is,
they’re going to hurt you,
every once in a while
and you must forgive them for that.

I Believe…..
That true friendship continues to grow,
even over the longest distance.
Same goes for true love.

I Believe…
That you can do something in an instant
That will give you heartache for life.

I Believe….
That it’s taking me a long time
To become the person I want to be.

I Believe…
That you should always leave loved ones with Loving words.
It may be the last time you see them.

I Believe….
That you can keep going long after you think you can’t.

I Believe….
That we are responsible for what
We do, no matter how we feel.

I Believe…
That either you control your attitude or it controls you.

I Believe….
That heroes are the people
who do what has to be done
when it needs to be done,
regardless of the consequences.

I Believe….
That my best friend and I
can do anything or nothing
and have the best time.

I Believe….
That sometimes the people you expect to kick you when you’re down will be the ones to help you get back up.

I Believe…
That sometimes when I’m angry
I have the right to be angry, but that
doesn’t give me the right to be cruel.

I Believe…
That maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you’ve had
And what you’ve learned from them and less to do with how many birthdays you’ve celebrated.

I Believe…..
That it isn’t always enough,
to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn
to forgive yourself.

I Believe…
That no matter how bad
your heart is broken;
the world doesn’t stop for your grief.

I Believe….
That our background and circumstances
may have influenced who we are, but,
we are responsible for whom we become.

I Believe…
That you shouldn’t be
so eager to find out a secret.
It could change your life forever.

I Believe….
Two people can look at the exact same
Thing and see something totally different.

I Believe…
That your life can be changed
in a matter of hours
by people who don’t even know you.

I Believe…
That even when you think
you have no more to give,
When a friend cries out to you,
you will find the strength to help.

I Believe…
That credentials on the wall
do not make you a decent human being.

I Believe…
That the people you care about
most in life
are taken from you too soon.

I Believe…
That you should share this with
all of the people that you believe in.
I just did.

The happiest of people don’t necessarily have
the best of everything; They just make the most of everything they have.

Let’s take a moment to nourish our soul!

Have you ever wondered why almost everyone comes alive in this current season? We change our way of dressing, our  hairstyle  and take on more activities, and even  start to socialize with our neighbors. We find reasons to be outside, never admitting that winter slowed down our activities. Besides the fact that our Father Sun is moving closer to Mother  Earth, to give Her warmth and nourishment , we the children are also nourished by this Sun / Energy; watching Mother Earth awaken to new life invigorates  all who make Her their home, reminding us that we are a part of something that regenerates, that is forever creating without end.

We are given a constant reminder, a Universal  reminder, of the process Mother Earth , (Lady Gaia), uses to renew, Herself and Her children who inhabit Her. Watching this process gives us hope, cheers us up; puts more pep in our steps. Beauty is born from chaos; we have only to look at nature to understand the “process” in our individual life. In the aftermath of the recent world events, the beautiful spring flowers remind me that everything changes.

The beauty of the trees,
the softness of the air,
the fragrance of the grass,
speaks to me.~ Hope

Knowing that there is always hope allows us to experience beauty.

Beauty is a characteristic of a person, animal, place, object, or idea that provides a perceptual experience of pleasure, meaning, or satisfaction. ~ Webster

It uplifts the spirit so let’s take every available moment we can spare to nourish our spirits; as we heal those around us heal.

Rebirth and Recovery : The Earthquake in Japan

In an earlier blog I spoke about “change” that is forced on us without our permission; life altering change brought on by birth, death, sickness, loss of jobs and of course, natural disasters.  We cannot escape the fact that we are “one” world, and all its inhabitants are connected, through spirit/energy, and when we believe this in our heart and soul, we react to the pain of all who share the same Source.

In the aftermath of last week’s major earthquake in Japan, and all the news coverage we are exposed to, I found myself pondering, what happened?  When change of this magnitude occurs, it shakes us to our core, because it cannot be controlled. We cannot go through life fearing earthquakes, but we can learn about the process of how the earth cleanses itself and prepares for rebirth.

According to Ellie Crystal’s website: http://www.crystalinks.com/earthquakes.html An earthquake, (also known as a quake, tremor or temblor), is the result of a sudden release of energy in the Earth’s crust that creates seismic waves. The moment magnitude (or the related and mostly obsolete Richter magnitude) of an earthquake is conventionally reported  with magnitude 3 or lower; with the earthquake being mostly imperceptible  and a magnitude 7 earthquake which causes serious damage over large areas.  I read that Japans earthquake was magnitude 9.

At the Earth’s surface, earthquakes manifest themselves by shaking and sometimes displacing the ground. When a large earthquake epicenter is located offshore, the seabed sometimes suffers sufficient displacement to cause a tsunami. The shaking in earthquakes can also trigger landslides and occasionally volcanic activity.

(Wikipedia ) This is what happened in Japan on 3-11-11.

Ellie reminds us that earthquakes have occurred since the beginning of time and have been documented throughout all cultures history and religions. Under her heading of Mythology and Religion, she explains that in Norse mythology, earthquakes were explained as the violent struggling of the god Loki. When Loki, god of mischief and strife, murdered Baldr, god of beauty and light, he was punished by being bound in a cave with a poisonous serpent placed above his head dripping venom. Loki’s wife Sigyn stood by him with a bowl to catch the poison, but whenever she had to empty the bowl the poison would drip on Loki’s face, forcing him to jerk his head away and thrash against his bonds, causing the earth to tremble.

In Greek mythology, Poseidon was the cause and god of earthquakes. When he was in a bad mood, he would strike the ground with a trident, causing this and other calamities. He also used earthquakes to punish and inflict fear upon people as revenge.

In Japanese mythology, Namazu is a giant catfish who causes earthquakes. Namazu lives in the mud beneath the earth, and is guarded by the god Kashima who restrains the fish with a stone. When Kashima lets his guard fall, Namazu thrashes about, causing violent earthquakes.

In my journey I have come to believe that whenever natural disasters occur, there is always a greater good; a change in the way we live and think.  Even the bible teaches us about natural disasters, in the story of Noah and the Ark; God showed mercy towards Noah and his family by showing him how to prepare for a flood, while taking precautions to preserve His Creation, the animals.

I ran across this newsletter from Diana Cooper, a Mystic and teacher in London, written in June 2007. She was talking about the Earth Cleansing Itself prior to 2012.  (http://www.dianacooper.com).

“Dear Friends,

Because our planet is rising in frequency Mother Earth is detoxing in preparation for the future.  If you have been eating junk food and entertained dark emotions, you expect spots, bad breath and any number of unpleasant effects when you decide to detox.  Buried emotions may also surface. It is the same with our planet, which after millennia of abuse by humans is now throwing off toxins, ready to move to a higher frequency.  She is doing it with floods, volcanoes, fires, earthquakes, hurricanes and tornadoes.  For the past few years many parts of the world have experienced these disasters for the first time or in a more extreme way.

Floods cleanse collective stuck emotions such as grief.  Earthquakes shake up the foundations of our lives and release anger.  So does a volcano.  Gales and hurricanes blow away old thought forms and mind sets throughout an area.”

Diana also talked about what we can do to help: Pray, send energy and money. We recognize that this is an occurrence which must be guided into the positive flow of God to produce a healing. Diana Cooper writes in her book: “2012 and Beyond”, Findhorn Press, “Water has cosmic cleansing properties and is a reminder that we are all equal in the eyes of God. Where cleansing takes place we will regard the destruction with human eyes as horrific. But it will open the hearts of all.”

There are many ways we can join the flow of Love towards Japan and assist in healing its’ people and the land.  Including the victims and their families in your prayers is only the first step.  If you are attuned to Reiki , sitting for 15 minutes with the intention of sending Reiki; focusing on the Mind, Body & Spiritual aspect of this disaster will support healing.

http://www. Doasone.com s breathing to send support  for Japan as part of their  efforts to help.  I participated in a group of 500 people in a webinar designed to petition God through Divine Love, to send in the angels to assist Japan in dealing with the nuclear reactor problem; their website is: http://www.worldserviceinstitute.org/3101.html. We can find a variety of ways to participate and help; to affirm our oneness.

Think about what you can do, and then do it! A small sacrifice of time will boost your spirit and help you to feel valued by valuing others.  Make it a practice to set aside time each day to honor, pray and do for others. I pray that you open your heart with love as you witness the turmoil those in Japan are living in. Each one teach one, inspire one, heal one.

Changing the Flow

I just took a break from life. The roof is leaking and I am full of anxiety, fear and resentment. I went into my bedroom, closed the door and sat in the silence for an hour.  I now know that when my response is anxiety, anger, depression, melancholy or just general annoyance, I am out of balance and my energy is low. I have discovered that we are designed to self heal, and our moods, feelings, and thoughts are symptoms that alert us to an imbalance within us. Just by sitting in the silence; giving myself a fresh start, the mood lifted.

I gave myself a fresh start by allowing peace back into my life; letting go and letting the Universe, (God) handle it. We have been given dominion over the earth, by our Father and this includes our body, our minds, our spirits, and those we allow in our space. We are children of the “Most High”; we are designed to be healthy, happy and productive, and when we are out of balance, it affects how we live our life and most importantly, our happiness.

In my last blog I spoke of the many tools we have been given to weather the storms of life. All over the world some of these tools: in the form of meditation, yoga, tai chi, chanting, drums, retreats, massages etc. have increased in popularity. We are learning the benefits of de-stressing our bodies and thereby our minds. We are learning that our health is affected if we do not take time to tend to our total self: mind, body and Spirit. I am however talking about the tools that we as people use to balance ourselves when we don’t have time to take a break, get a massage or take a yoga class. The tools that we learn to practice daily which improve our mood, lift us up and strengthen us on our journey.

I also spoke of the “flow of change” and how we can consciously direct the flow of change that occurs even when it is forced on us without our permission. An example: when our day starts off with a negative influence, we sometimes carry that mood, or attitude into all of the activities of our day. When we notice this happening, we can immediately change that negative energy to positive by using these tools. We can “change the flow”; we have the power, through intention to create the world we wish to experience.   Since these tools will make you feel better, like attracts like and we are then attracting positive experiences to us instead of negative. Listed below are some of the simple tools guaranteed to increase our energy, thereby changing and uplifting our mind.

  • Affirmative Prayer: God in any form is Power which is also referred to as Light-(energy). When we turn our thoughts to God sincerely, it lifts our energy, and releases happiness hormones, the endorphins.
  • clapping: another way to give those arm and chest muscles a workout which stimulates the heart and breath. Our ancestors, in their celebrations and rituals sometimes used clapping to “stir up the spirit”.
  • Breathing exercises “Breath from the abdomen stimulates your chakra’s and energizes the body. You first might want to try Doasone.com to learn the”breathing basics”.
  • Movement: Lift your arms, move your body, dance with yourself!
  • Play: Get yourself a bottle of bubbles or play dough.
  • Music: Turn on your favorite song and sing; it’s a sure fire way to feel great.

There are many ways to step out of our negative moods and behaviors, but the key is to make an effort to change. We are productive and happy when we are in the positive flow of emotions and we have the power to stay in that flow. Living our dreams takes courage, strength and perseverance. Our inner resolve improves when we are balanced; we then can truly conquer the world.

If Life is a journey, Where is the Map?

The weather changes, the earth and sky change; our bodies change; sometimes through no fault of our own our very life changes right before our eyes. Secretly, silently, issued by the Universe, we were given tools to help us find our way. We can get a glimpse of this “map” in retrospect, as we take the time to view the changes that have occurred in our lives. If we are perceptive, we can see that most of the “changes” we have experienced have led to a greater good. But very often what occurs is that we experience fear amidst the situation and we start to dread “change” itself.

So, what is change? Wiki defines change as: The process of becoming different. Webster states: it is transformation (Noun). The one thing we know about change, is that it is constant. Sometimes we can consciously direct the flow of change’ that occurs in our life and at other times, it is forced on us without our permission. When we take the time to heal our attitude toward the situation, we then find that it does wonders to insure a positive outcome.

We can become depressed when we look at the changes that occur in our bodies and in our lives; we can look at our bodies, much like a favorite coat we wear that is showing signs of wear and tear and we can look at our lives as a work in progress. In that way we can offer the “circumstances” love and acceptance; being grateful for the role it plays in our life journey.

There are many tools that we were given by the Universe in anticipation of the storms we would encounter along our journey. All over the world we are becoming aware of practices that have been on earth since the beginning of time in one form or another. We are all seeking ways to heal; to be in balance. The tools I discovered were; writing, meditation, yoga, dance, music and play which all served me at various times in my life.  In my effort to heal some of the life changing events I was confronted with, I discovered Reiki. This wonderful practice, helps to balance us by sending energy to the areas of our body that hold the pain of our struggles and disappointments. It empowers you to heal first yourself, then your family and ultimately your community.

What Tools do you practice to help you heal; What tools have you learned to share with others? It takes the act of loving oneself; trusting that life is not going to hurt us, knowing that we have the power within us to transcend all that comes to us on our journey.
