In an earlier blog I spoke about “change” that is forced on us without our permission; life altering change brought on by birth, death, sickness, loss of jobs and of course, natural disasters. We cannot escape the fact that we are “one” world, and all its inhabitants are connected, through spirit/energy, and when we believe this in our heart and soul, we react to the pain of all who share the same Source.
In the aftermath of last week’s major earthquake in Japan, and all the news coverage we are exposed to, I found myself pondering, what happened? When change of this magnitude occurs, it shakes us to our core, because it cannot be controlled. We cannot go through life fearing earthquakes, but we can learn about the process of how the earth cleanses itself and prepares for rebirth.
According to Ellie Crystal’s website: http://www.crystalinks.com/earthquakes.html An earthquake, (also known as a quake, tremor or temblor), is the result of a sudden release of energy in the Earth’s crust that creates seismic waves. The moment magnitude (or the related and mostly obsolete Richter magnitude) of an earthquake is conventionally reported with magnitude 3 or lower; with the earthquake being mostly imperceptible and a magnitude 7 earthquake which causes serious damage over large areas. I read that Japans earthquake was magnitude 9.
At the Earth’s surface, earthquakes manifest themselves by shaking and sometimes displacing the ground. When a large earthquake epicenter is located offshore, the seabed sometimes suffers sufficient displacement to cause a tsunami. The shaking in earthquakes can also trigger landslides and occasionally volcanic activity.
(Wikipedia ) This is what happened in Japan on 3-11-11.
Ellie reminds us that earthquakes have occurred since the beginning of time and have been documented throughout all cultures history and religions. Under her heading of Mythology and Religion, she explains that in Norse mythology, earthquakes were explained as the violent struggling of the god Loki. When Loki, god of mischief and strife, murdered Baldr, god of beauty and light, he was punished by being bound in a cave with a poisonous serpent placed above his head dripping venom. Loki’s wife Sigyn stood by him with a bowl to catch the poison, but whenever she had to empty the bowl the poison would drip on Loki’s face, forcing him to jerk his head away and thrash against his bonds, causing the earth to tremble.
In Greek mythology, Poseidon was the cause and god of earthquakes. When he was in a bad mood, he would strike the ground with a trident, causing this and other calamities. He also used earthquakes to punish and inflict fear upon people as revenge.
In Japanese mythology, Namazu is a giant catfish who causes earthquakes. Namazu lives in the mud beneath the earth, and is guarded by the god Kashima who restrains the fish with a stone. When Kashima lets his guard fall, Namazu thrashes about, causing violent earthquakes.
In my journey I have come to believe that whenever natural disasters occur, there is always a greater good; a change in the way we live and think. Even the bible teaches us about natural disasters, in the story of Noah and the Ark; God showed mercy towards Noah and his family by showing him how to prepare for a flood, while taking precautions to preserve His Creation, the animals.
I ran across this newsletter from Diana Cooper, a Mystic and teacher in London, written in June 2007. She was talking about the Earth Cleansing Itself prior to 2012. (http://www.dianacooper.com).
Because our planet is rising in frequency Mother Earth is detoxing in preparation for the future. If you have been eating junk food and entertained dark emotions, you expect spots, bad breath and any number of unpleasant effects when you decide to detox. Buried emotions may also surface. It is the same with our planet, which after millennia of abuse by humans is now throwing off toxins, ready to move to a higher frequency. She is doing it with floods, volcanoes, fires, earthquakes, hurricanes and tornadoes. For the past few years many parts of the world have experienced these disasters for the first time or in a more extreme way.
Floods cleanse collective stuck emotions such as grief. Earthquakes shake up the foundations of our lives and release anger. So does a volcano. Gales and hurricanes blow away old thought forms and mind sets throughout an area.”
Diana also talked about what we can do to help: Pray, send energy and money. We recognize that this is an occurrence which must be guided into the positive flow of God to produce a healing. Diana Cooper writes in her book: “2012 and Beyond”, Findhorn Press, “Water has cosmic cleansing properties and is a reminder that we are all equal in the eyes of God. Where cleansing takes place we will regard the destruction with human eyes as horrific. But it will open the hearts of all.”
There are many ways we can join the flow of Love towards Japan and assist in healing its’ people and the land. Including the victims and their families in your prayers is only the first step. If you are attuned to Reiki , sitting for 15 minutes with the intention of sending Reiki; focusing on the Mind, Body & Spiritual aspect of this disaster will support healing.
http://www. Doasone.com s breathing to send support for Japan as part of their efforts to help. I participated in a group of 500 people in a webinar designed to petition God through Divine Love, to send in the angels to assist Japan in dealing with the nuclear reactor problem; their website is: http://www.worldserviceinstitute.org/3101.html. We can find a variety of ways to participate and help; to affirm our oneness.
Think about what you can do, and then do it! A small sacrifice of time will boost your spirit and help you to feel valued by valuing others. Make it a practice to set aside time each day to honor, pray and do for others. I pray that you open your heart with love as you witness the turmoil those in Japan are living in. Each one teach one, inspire one, heal one.
